Thereafter each hide is finished by hand, resulting in a near transparent surface, with a clarity and depth unattainable through other mechanical methods. As a "naked" leather, natural marks and variances in the leather are apparent, as they are not covered with pigment, and work to achieve a richly unique, and genuine appearance to each article.
